Bio

Joe Wheeler Bennett, 49, of 515 Fifth avenue South, Mr Bennett died August 1, 1956 of cancer in the Veteran's Hospital. He was born in Nashville, the son of Isaac Monroe and Mary Etta Somerville Bennett. He attended local schools. Mr Bennett served in the US Army for 3 years during WW II. After his discharge he was employed as a sheet metal worker for Lowe and Howell Company and worked there until he became ill two years ago. Survivors include a son, R.H. Bennett, of the Navy; two brothers, C.G. Bennett, Bordeaux, Gilbert Bennett, Nashville; four sisters, Mrs. L.T. Warren, Madison, Mrs. W.C. Montgomery, Louisville, Mrs. J.H. Freeze, San Antonio, and Mrs. H.R. Brazemore, Nashville.
