Joseph "Joe" Albert Kubena, 80, passed away on September 7, 2015, in his home surrounded by his family. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015, with the funeral service following at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin. Burial will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Joe was born on March 20, 1935, in Bay City, Texas, to the late Bohumir and Frances Kubena. Joseph served two years in the United States Army, opened his own barbershop at Kelly AFB, and ultimately accomplished a dream of owning a dairy farm for forty-five years. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Lillie Jiral, Frances Ann Kubena, and Mary Ann Kotzur; and brothers: Bohumir Johnny "B.J." Kubena", Jerome George Kubena, and Louis Edward Kubena Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Bernice Kubena; sons, Joseph Kubena, Jr. and his wife, Leigh, and Steven Kubena and his wife, Donna; daughters: Mary Lebo and her husband, Sean, Kathy Thompson and her husband, Loren, and Carol Werner and her husband, Max; grandchildren: Rachel Kubena, Steven Kubena, Jr., Alyssa (Kubena) Johnson, Joshua Kubena, Justin Lebo, Wesley Taylor Kubena, Danielle Lebo, Codi Werner, Taylor Thompson, Colton Kubena, Brandi Werner, Joseph Blake Kubena, Skylar Werner, Crystal Lebo, and Allison Kubena; great-grandson, Landon Johnson; sister, Agnes Remmers; brother, Edwin J. Kubena and his wife, Margaret; sister-in-law, Evelyn Kubena; other relatives and many friends. Y4
