Bio

Margaret E. Killion, 92, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Father Thomas Ryan officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Margaret was born June 18, 1910 at Comstock, Nebraska to Charles and Hazel (Fees) Mathauser. She was raised in educated at Comstock. She married Michael John in 1930 at Loup City, Nebraska. In 1942 they moved to Grand Island where she worked at the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant until 1946. Mr. John died Dec. 3, 1972. In 1975, Margaret married Gerald Killion and they made their home in Grand Island. Mr. Killion died in December of 1978. She was employed at the Wardrobe for 12 years, Tobers for 10 years, and also worked at the Yardstick. She had also been employed at Hoveland-Swanson’s at the Mall and worked as a seamstress in her home until 1988. Margaret is survived by one daughter; Delavon J. Herrold of Grand Island, six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands; Michael John and Gerald Killion, two brothers; Charles and Harold Mathauser, and one sister; Clara Mutter.
