Bio

SLOVAK, LILLIE MARY, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, in Ennis. She was born Dec. 18, 1918 in Telico, the daughter of Igmac and Frances Dlebaj Slovak. She was reared in Telico and Hopewell and attended St. John School. On Nov. 3, 1937 she was married to Charlie Slovak of Ennis. After their marriage they lived in Roanoke, later moving to Dallas. Mr. Slovak preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1948. She then moved to Ennis where she was employed as a seamstress by Donovan-Galvani. She retired from Story Mfg. in 1980. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, the KJZT, Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. She is survived by a daughter, Jean D. Ekholm of Mansfield; 2 sisters, Ann Reeves of Lancaster and Wilma Holt of Ennis; 7 grandchildren, Karen Corder, Teri Lankford, Melissa Tucker, Susan Gilbert, Cynthia Plasek, Angie Nelson and Justin Slovak; and 4 great grandchildren, Blake Lankford, Brittnee Lankford, Chase Lankford and Haven Libel. She was preceded in death by 4 sons, Charles, Jerry, Joe and Ivan Slovak. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Keever Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Johns Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Ennis.
