Bio

Vyiolette Elaine ( Fuchs ) Doernemann was born February 1, 1933, at Norfolk to Michael and Elizabeth (Bruckner) Fuchs. She attended Pierce County rural School District 26, attended Battle Creek High School for two years and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Norfolk in 1951. Vyiolette received her nurse's training at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk and continued to work there until her marriage. On December 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald D. Doernemann at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Battle Creek, Nebraska. The couple lived on a farm northwest of Dodge and in 1963 purchased a farm and resided there until 1988, when they moved into Dodge. Vyiolette was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean, member of its Altar Society and Choir. She served as Religious Educational Instructor for 41 years and as the DRE Education Administrator for 20 years at Sacred Heart Church-Olean and St. Wenceslaus-Dodge. In 2004, she received the Outstanding Minister Religion Education Award from the Archdiocese of Omaha and for the last 10 years has served as an Archdiocese and Chorale Singer. Vyiolette passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska. Survivors include: one daughter; one son; two granddaughters; sister-in-law, Audrey Fuchs-Wedekind, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Fuchs; husband Donald Doernemann; two daughters in infancy; and two brothers, Allen and Gilbert Fuchs. Visitation was on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, from 2:30 to 7:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean. There was a Rosary recited at 3:00 p.m. and a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 10:00 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean. Celebrants officiating the service were Father Patrick McLaughlin, Father Mark McKercher and Monsignor Mel Wiese. Casket Bearers were Randy, Robert, Jim, Joe and Jason Fuchs along with Ron Micek. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery-Olean. Minnick Funeral Home in Dodge is in charge of arrangements.
