OMAHA — William E. Proskocil, 88, of Omaha, formerly of Ord, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at CHI Lakeside Medical Center in Omaha. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Trever Rook will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Mr. Proskocil was born Nov. 12, 1926, at Ord to Joseph and Anna (Tatcy) Proskocil. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William E. and Thanu Proskocil Jr. of Omaha, and Richard L. and Zeta Proskocil of Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly D. and Martin Mortensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was raised in Ord where he also received his education. As a young man William farmed and delivered milk. He began a career with the State of Nebraska Department of Roads and continued to work there until his retirement. On Feb. 5, 1948, William was united in marriage to Georgia Svoboda at Ord. The couple spent their entire married life in Ord. Mrs. Proskocil passed away on July 8, 1988. William has made his home in Omaha for the past several years. William enjoyed carpentry and gardening. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Joe, Tony and Ed.
