J. Proskocil Dies At Age 93 Joseph Proskocil was born July 16, 1890 in Kamin, Czechoslovakia to John and Anna Tourek Proskocil and died July 5, 1984 at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 93. When Joseph was 18, he moved from Czechoslovakia to the United States and was employed in a meat packing plant in Omaha. He was united in marriage to Anna Tatcy on February 25, 1913, in Omaha. They then moved and farmed west of Ord and in 1944, moved into Ord to make their home. Since December of 1983, Joseph had been a resident of the Valley County Nursing Home. Anna died May 5, 1984. Survivors include three sons, Bill and his wife, Georgia, of Ord, Tony and his wife, Gladys, of Ord, and Joe Jr., and his wife, Florence of Mountain Home, ID; one daughter-in-law, Lydia Proskocil of Ord; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son. Services were held Saturday, July 7, 1984 at 10 am at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery.
