Bio

The Webster Signal Minden, La Oct. 18, 1918, p4 Society Notes On Monday, October 14, Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Frazier received a message by wire, stating that their son, B.T. Frazier, had died in France on September 22 of pneumonia. He sailed for France the latter part of August and since that time no word concerning him had been received, except that he had arrived safely overseas. For some reason no message direct from him had come to the waiting ones at home although each day they hoped to hear. When the terrible news was received of his death the shock was indeed great. He was a devoted son and brother: loved his home and was ever mindful of those so dear to him when near, and when he was away from home he would always write often. That nothing can be known concerning his last illness adds much to the distress of the devoted father and mother. To die away from home and mother, in a foreign land, is inexpressibly sad, but to die for one's country is great. He shall ever live in the hearts of his countrymen and his memory shall ever be cherished. "Ben" will not be forgotten. The blue star which stands for him on the Banner in the Methodist Church shall be replaced by a gold one, the first gold among the blue. "While we keep the home fires burning, And our anxious hearts are yearning, Oh, so swiftly they are turning Blue stars into gleaming gold. Grief that holds our sad eyes waking Hearts that never cease their aching, Pity Lord, our hearts are breaking, While the blue stars turn to gold." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Shreveport (La) Times (Nov. 9, 1920) Body Coming From France. The remains of Benjamin T. Frazier, who died in Brest, France from pneumonia during the World War, did not reach Minden, La., for interment in the family burying plot Sunday, as was expected by his mother, Mrs. Mattie Frazier, of Garden street, this city. Mrs. Frazier is momentarily expecting some advice from the War Department as to when the remains will reach here, as they were supposed to have left New York last Thursday.
