Arlene Anna Jung, 97, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Bremer will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Mrs. Jung was born, oldest daughter of 14 children, on April 26, 1918, in Surprise, Neb., to Arthur and Rose (Matousek) Wondercheck. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Peggy (Kenneth) Trubey of Ord; granddaughters, Sara (Matthew) Gideon and their sons, Sage and Kale, of Burwell; Heather (Jeremy) McFarland and their children, Madison and Kennedy, of Grand Island; Erin (Skip) Reynolds and their children, Braden and Kade, of Aurora, Colo.; brothers, Joe (Honey) Wondercheck of Minnesota and Ray (Bev) Wondercheck of Bellevue; sisters, Nadine Sindelar of Norfolk, Mary Ann Degen of Grand Island and Doris Bise of Washington; along with several extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Ann McFarland; and eight siblings. Arlene grew up in North Star, Neb., until she was united in marriage to Leonard Jung on March 1, 1940. Following their marriage they made their home in Grand Island. She owned the downtown Merle Norman Cosmetics. Arlene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for several years and had been a present member of Grace Lutheran Church. Arlene was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
