Linda Louise Cox, a loving mother who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 in Greenville, Texas. She was 63. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin funeral Home in Ennis. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Interment will be follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis. She was born Linda Louise Harris on October 25, 1951 in Dallas, Texas, to the late Oscar Lewis Harris and Frances Louise (Cates) Harris. Linda moved to Kentucky in 1970 and returned to Texas in 1982 where she spent the remainder of her life. She retired from Dallas Independent School District after 20 years of dedicated service. As a single mother, she worked hard and sacrificed to provide a good life for her family. Her daughters always came first. She was a wonderful, hard-working mother who at times worked two or three jobs. She was enthusiastically involved in all activities regarding her children. She would forsake her personal interests for those of her girls. Linda was a constant support to her family. She overcame many major adversities and struggles, to become a self-reliant, smart woman. Linda was always willing to go above and beyond to help anyone who asked. She was tirelessly dedicated to all who knew her well. Never one to rest, she loved keeping busy. She enjoyed taking photographs, making crafts and shopping, especially around Christmas time. Linda loved life and fought off cancer as long as she could. She took solace in reuniting in Heaven with her loved ones, especially her mother. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Dean Harris; and a sister, Margaret Elaine Harris Brown. Linda is survived by two daughters, Stacy Diana Tillman of Forney, TX, Jaime Jeane Zapata and husband Anselmo Zapata Jr. of Forney, TX; brother, Stephen D. Harris and wife Sharon of Midlothian, TX; sister Georgia D. Jackson and husband Albert of Mabank, TX; grandson Christopher Dewayne Tillman and wife Sarah; granddaughter Caroline Leann Zapata; grandson, Lucas Ryan Zapata; great granddaughter, Elyzabeth Jane Tillman; Sister-in-law, Linda Sue Harris of Mesquite and Kay Daniels Harris-Starkes of Allen; along with several nieces and nephews.
