Thanks to contributor #48601942; Grand Island Independent October 5, 2002 WOLBACH -- Lola M. Larsen, 53, of Wolbach died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Rev. Ken West will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Wolbach United Methodist Church Air Conditioning Fund. Mrs. Larsen was born Jan. 4, 1949, at St. Paul to Carl W. and Opal (Prentice) Nielsen. She received her education at rural District 44 School near Wolbach and graduated from Palmer High School in 1968. She then lived in Grand Island, where she worked at Allen's Self-Service. She married Lowell Larsen on July 20, 1968, in Wolbach. The couple lived in Phoenix, where they both worked for Kaiser Aerospace for a year. In late 1969, the couple moved to St. Paul and Mrs. Larsen was employed at the Farmer's Union Co-op. In 1975, the couple moved to Wolbach and Mrs. Larsen worked for Dr. Jay McIntyre as a receptionist. In 1981, they moved into a new home in southeast Wolbach. Mrs. Larsen was a dispatcher for the Howard County Communications Center from 1981 to 2001. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in 4-H when her sons were young. She enjoyed bowling, camping and family get-togethers. She is survived by her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Corey and Tarra Larsen of Grand Island, and Cody Larsen of Norfolk; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene "Butch" and Judi Nielsen of Alda, and Tim and Teresa Nielsen of Rapid City, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Chris and Chad.
