The Daily Herald, Provo, Utah, 01 Jan 1985 Von Armon Hampton, 59, American Fork, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 1984, at American Fork following a short illness. He was born Feb. 21, 1925 at Abraham to Armon M "Dude" and Ovena G. Jensen Hampton. He married Melba White. Oct. 29, 1950, at Sante Fe, N.M. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood. Texas. He was a member of the American Fork Police Department for eight years. He worked for the railroad, in the oil fields, at Tooele Army Depot and as a heavy equipment operator in construction. He is survived by his wife of American Fork; four sons and one daughter: James, Greg, Brad and Bruce Hampton, all American Fork, and Mrs. John (Teresa) Wilcock,. Pioche, Nev.; nine grandchildren, his mother of American Fork, and (our brothers and three sisters: Monte H. Hampton, Lehi; Merlin D Hampton and Mrs. Jack (Doreen) Doyle, both American Fork. Mrs. Jerry (Kay) Kofford, Highland; Mrs. Gary (Lamae) Bennett, Pleasant Grove; Michael L. Hampton. Hayward, Calif.; and Ronald J. Hampton, San Lorenzo. Calif. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Anderson & Sons Mortuary. 49 E. 100 North. Friends may call at the mortuary 6-8 p.m. Wednesdy and one hour before services. Burial will be in American Fork City Cemetery.
