The Pleasant Grove Review, Pleasant Grove, Utah, 02 Jun 1993 Monte Ray Hampton, 65, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 30, 1993 after a long illness. He was born Aug. 19, 1927 in Abraham, Utah, son of Armon M. and Ovena G. Hampton. He married Leora Roberts on Nov. 30, 1957. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity. He was an Elder in the LDS Church. He attended schools in Delta, Plymouth and Logan. He served with distinction during World War II and the Korean War. After the war, he worked for the . U.S. Government traveling extensively around the world, retiring from Dugway Proving Grounds in 1972. He later worked at the Utah State Developmental Center. He served in the Lehi Auxiliary Police and with the ambulance crew. He loved to hunt, fish and read western novels. He is survived by his wife of Lehi; two sons and three daughters, Thomas and Jaynann Hampton, James and Michelle Humes, American Fork; Loyd and Debbie Hampton, Lake Shore; Steve and Verlinda Roberts, West Valley City; Michael and Jennifer Hogencamp, Orem; 20 grandchildren; his mother, American Fork; three brothers and three sisters: Merlin Hampton, Mrs. Jack (Doreen) Doyle and Mrs. Jerry (Kay) Kofford, American Fork; Mrs. Gary (LaMae) Bennett, Pleasant Grove; Michael Hampton and Ronald Hampton, California. He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers and a daughter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 1993 at 11 a.m. in the Lehi 2nd Ward Chapel, 465 E. 300 North. Friends may call at Wing Mortuary between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
