Merlin L. Phelps 1941 ~ 2004 Much loved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, age 62, died on June 4, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on December 7, 1941 to Ruby Bell Allred and Heber LeRoy Phelps in Salt Lake City, Utah. Merlin loved fishing, country music, and dogs. He also loved to help people. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Draper; sisters, Margaret Phelps and Trudy (Tom) Cannell; daughters Vickie Bixby and Kelly Phelps; ex-wife and dear friend Sharon Phelps; grandchildren, Derrick Phelps and Emily Medina; nieces and nephews and his best little buddy, Zippy and many friends. Merlin was preceded in death by his son, Scott Earl Phelps and niece, Terri Barnett. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions for final expenses will be accepted at Granite Credit Union, Merlin L. Phelps Memorial Account.
