ORD — Lila Naeve, 84, of Ord died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at her home. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ord United Methodist Church. The Rev. Debra Tompsett-Welch will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in North Loup. Her body was cremated. Memorials are suggested to Ord Area Home Health Care. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Naeve was born July 11, 1918, at Ord to Charles and Lyda (Summers) Porter. She graduated from Ord High School in 1934. After graduation, she taught in the Valley County Schools. She married Donald W. Naeve on Dec. 31, 1942, in Falls City. The couple lived in Falls City, St. Louis, Chicago, Burlington, Wis., Ord and Elyria. She worked as an office manager for 13 years at the Ord Quiz. She retired in 1981. Her husband died Feb. 7, 1989. She was a member of Ord United Methodist Church. She was also a member and past present of Ord Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She taught Sunday school and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and bridge. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael of Montecito, Calif., William and Rebecca of Lyons, Colo., Jim and Linda of Norfolk, and Robert of Ord; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Verne and Mary Porter of Englewood, Colo.; and a sister, Beulah Porter of Ord.
