Betty Darlene (Harding) Ryan, 86, of Medicine Lodge, KS died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Hilltop Manor, Cunningham, Kansas. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Walton, KS, the daughter of Orval Milton Harding and Mary Ellen (Smith) Harding. On June 26, 1947 she married Luther James "L.J." Ryan at Russell, KS. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2000. Betty was the office manager at National Gypsum. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS where she enjoyed singing in the choir and a member of the Pilots Club and Monday Afternoon Club. Surviving are one son, Rodney (Susan) Ryan of West Monroe, LA; two daughters, Terry J. (Bob) Axline of Albuquerque, NM and Paula C. (Dwight) Chapin of Medicine Lodge, KS; Seven grandchildren, James Ryan, Leah Ryan, Faith Green, Jessica Kamali, Ryan Axline, Wes Chapin, & Kelli Foster; nine great-grandchildren, Logan Chapin, Makenzie Chapin, Carson Akins Amalie Schlegel, Madelyn Schlegel, Joshua Kamali, Jayden Kamali, Ian Foster, & Nicholas Foster; two brothers, Bill Harding of Georgia & Robert Harding of Oregon; three sisters, Margaret Ditgen of Augusta, KS, Mary Ann Martin of South Fork, CO, and Donna Gager of Plainville, KS; She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Berniece Bell & June Wortman and an infant brother, Orval Harding, Jr. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS in care of the funeral home.
