Bio

Born in the village of Cerniny, southeast of Prague in the Central Bohemian region. At the time it was part of the Austrian empire. Married to Anna for 19 years at time of 1900 census. Immigrated in 1868 (1920 census) or 1870 (1900 census). Naturalized in 1890 Native tongue Bohemian (Czech). (1920 census) 1900 census reports Josef and family living and farming in the Manda community of eastern Travis County, Texas. Children reported are Annie, Albina, J. Josef, and Johnnie. 1920 census reports Josef and family living and farming in rural Travis County, Texas. Son Johnnie remains in the home.
