Daughter of Lewis Norton Amsberry and Jane Ann Coffman of West Virginia. Wife of Henry E. Zimmerman of Wellersburg, Somerset County, Pennsylvania; married in 1880 at Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska. "Anola Jane Amsberry was born near Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa on October 30, 1859 and departed this life on March 11, 1952 at the age of 92 years, four months and twelve days. She was one of twelve children born to Norton and Jane Amsberry. Her father having passed away in 1876, she with her mother, sisters and brothers, moved to Custer County, Nebraska in 1879. In 1880, she was united in marriage to Henry E. Zimmerman at Grand Island, Nebraska and they made their home near Mason City. To this union seven children were born - two sons and five daughters. Preceding her in death were her husband on July 27, 1916 and her son, Thomas E., on July 18, 1932. She and her husband were baptized into membership of the Baptist Church of Mason City, Nebraska in 1881, later moving to Ansley. A new Baptist church was organized in Ansley, of which at the time of her death, she was the only surviving charter member. Since 1936 she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ada Eggleston, except for several winters she spent with her daughter, Mrs. Flora Hein of McCook, and shorter intervals with her daughters, Mrs. Mabel Junk and Mrs. Lottie Staab. Surviving are one brother, Charlie Amsberry of Broken Bow; one son, Louis Ray of Ansley; five daughters - Mrs. Ada Eggleston, Mrs. Lottie Staab, Mrs. Mabel Junk, all of Ansley, Mrs. Frona Parkhurst of Oakland, California, and Mrs. Flora Hein of McCook; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Grandma Zimmerman was loved by all who knew her and she in return loved them, her family, her Lord and His Word. She attended church services as long as she was able. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, March 14, from the Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Robert Ellis officiating. Hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. W.N. Gard, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Hattie Mattley. Pallbearers were John O. Eloe, Roy Garwood, Tom Price, Ivan Leck, Edward Wrasse and Artie Staab. Interment was in the Ansley Cemetery."
