ONAWA, Iowa | Rosalie "Rosie" Frances Madeline Shultz, 86, of Onawa died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Deacon Joe Scurlock officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.rushfamilycareservice.com. Rosie was born April 16, 1929, the daughter of Nick and Anna (Kies) Warengo. She attended the Lark Country School, and helped raise her brothers and sisters. Rosie and Merl Charles Shultz married May 7, 1949, at St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa. They had two children, Eugene and Patricia. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and David McNeill American Legion Auxiliary Post 129 of Onawa. Rosie enjoyed babysitting for several families in the Onawa area. She spent her time working with the elderly and taking care of her flower garden. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Dianna Shultz of Westfield, Iowa; son-in-law, Tom Young of Peoria, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Amy Warengo of Phoenix, Ariz., Chad Bumsted of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Chandee (Rodd) Slater of McCook Lake, S.D., Wade (Desiree) Shultz of Westfield, and Cecily Ketchens of Sioux City; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Gushard of Omaha, Neb.; and four brothers, Gary Warengo of Blencoe, Iowa, Gene Warengo of El Cajon, Calif., Bob Warengo of Phoenix and Raymond Warengo of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merl Shultz; her parents; daughter, Patricia "Patty" Young; son, Eugene "Gene" Shultz; son-in-law, Richard Bumsted; two sisters, Helen Young and Mary McMillon; two brothers, Clarence Warengo and Jim Warengo; and a brother-in-law, Ernest "Ernie" (Margaret) Shultz.
