Evelyn E. Lane, 82, went home to the Lord on June 23, 2011. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Evelyn was born in Granger, Texas, to Lois and Joseph Marek. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and resident of Houston for 39 years prior to moving to California in 2010. Evelyn retired from Wells Fargo Bank as Vice President in 1994. After retiring, Evelyn spent many happy hours volunteering for various organizations and found a second career having the time of her life giving style shows for Stein Mart all over the 1960 area. She will be missed by all those who knew her. Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Richard, in 1994, and is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Larry) Johns, of Fountain Valley, CA, four grandchildren: Morgan (Ame) Lane, Jennifer (Matt) Lindsay, Christopher Johns, JP Nichole (Jace) Mills, and four great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway. Burial will be at West End Cemetery, Stephenville, Texas, next to her beloved son, Richard Glen Lane, and grandaughter, Chivona Lynn Lane. {Champions Sun, The (Houston, TX) - Wednesday, July 13, 2011} Note: She married Glen William Lane on 11 Oct 1947 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. Her father, Joseph Ladislav Marek (1897-1960), was the son of Joseph R Marek and Frantiska "Frances" Bobalik. Her mother, Lois Mary Tomancak (1904-1997), was the daughter of Frances Stasny (1884-1966) who first married F. P. Tomancak on 15 April 1901 in Granger, and after he died, she next married John Huser on 17 April 1906 in Granger. Frances Stasny (later spelled Stasney) was the daughter of Jan (John) Stasny (1860-1944) and Anna Merka (1863-1936). [Contributor: Joe David (48095253) •]
