"Julia E. "Judy" Vaca, 90 years, of Cedar Bluffs, NE died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City. Judy was born April 7, 1925 in Wahoo, NE to Ludwig and Bessie (Benal) Wotipka. She grew up on a farm south of Cedar Bluffs and was a graduate of Cedar Bluffs High School. Judy married John Vaca on September 17, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Colon, NE. The couple lived on a farm near Malmo, NE and later moved into Cedar Bluffs. John died June 3, 1999. Judy worked at the local cafes and the steakhouse in Cedar Bluffs and also at the former drugstore. Judy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Cedar Bluffs and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post #158 of Cedar Bluffs. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Patty Vaca of David City; 3 sisters, Agnes Selfridge of Omaha, Lucille Fujan of Oregon and Marianne and husband, Harvey Callahan of Cedar Buffs; 2 granddaughters, Angela and husband, Perry Myers of Blair, NE and Susanna and husband, Michael Coufal of David City, NE; and 5 great grandchildren, Madeline, Ellie, Jillian, Kelby and Kayle. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 2 sisters, Rose Villwok and Christina Staab. Funeral Mass 10 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs, NE. Monsignor Daniel Seiker and Father Matthew Vandewalle will officiate. Rosary will be said at 9:00 AM on Wednesday at the church. Visitation with family receiving friends on Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Cedar Bluffs and on Wednesday at church from 9:30 AM to 10 AM. Burial will be at the Sunrise Cemetery North in Wahoo, NE. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the family for a memorial designation at a later date."
