Regina L. Maloney, nee Mergl, 90, of O'Fallon, Illinois, born September 10, 1924, in Brainard, Nebraska, passed away, Monday, May 11, 2015, in Mascoutah, Illinois. Mrs. Maloney was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Illinois. She enjoyed traveling and crocheting, and was an avid reader. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting for countless children throughout the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Buford Maloney; three granddaughters, Katie, Peggy and Danielle; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Maloney; her parents, Louis and Josephine, nee Kanter, Mergl; and two brothers, Louis and Joseph Mergl. Surviving are her children, Terence Lee Maloney, Russell (Kathy) Maloney, Michael Maloney, Kevin (Tonia) Maloney, and Wanda (John) Stache; her grandchildren, Scott (Cheryl) Maloney, Gina (Terry) Shevlin, Brian (Jennifer) Maloney, Constance (Eddie) Gulley, Chuck Stache, Johnny Stache, Kara (Bruce) Rapien, Kelli (Tony) Scibilia, Michael Maloney, Paul (Kristi) Maloney, Kevin Maloney, and Kyle Maloney; great grandchildren, Mandi, Austin, Dakota, Gavin, Cala (Ben), Zac, Madison, Hayden, Tony, Gregg, Landon, Mallory, Kennedy, Lauren and Alexis; a brother, Al Mergl; three sisters, Marcella Froschieser, Marie Witzel and Margaret Novotny; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials are appreciated to Illinois Center for Autism. Condolences may also be expressed online at www.lakeviewfuneralhm.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Illinois, with Monsignor William Hitpas officiating. Interment will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. In the care of Lake View Funeral Home.
