s/o John W. Burden and Willie Odessa Hooten, married November 21, 1897 in Cullman County, AL From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram , Thursday, October 5, 1989, Sec. 1, p. 21: Thomas M. Burden, a retired parking lot manager, died Tuesday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 81. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Mr. Burden was born in Cullman, Ala., and lived in Fort Worth for 36 years. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. Survivors: Wife, Earlene Burden of Fort Worth; son, Max Burden of Fort Worth; daughter, Tommye George of Lexington Park, Md.; brother, Mack Burden of Denton; five sisters, Bess Frazier of Dallas and Fannie Wilson, Johnie Cunningham, Wynelle Witt and Nancy McBeth, all of Denton; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
