Bio
Bessie M. Gibbons, 86, of Bellevue, died Feb. 20, 2000, in Omaha. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brewer Korisko Chapel in Omaha. Additional gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m. April 29 at the Ord Elks Club in Ord. Inurnment will be in the Old Bohemian Cemetery at Ord. Mrs. Gibbons was born to Charles and Mary Janda. Survivors include a son, William of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Joyce (Mrs. Jim) Bemis of Denver and Eileen (Mrs. Chuck) Scharnowski of Elkhart, Ind.; one brother, William Janda of Ord; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, two sisters and two brothers. The Grand Island Independent - Apr 13 2000
