Anna Sokol was born April 1, 1881 on her parent's farm north of Verdigre. She attended country school for a number of years and helped on the farm. Sept. 10, 1900, she married Frank Juracek. To this union six children were born, four daughters and two sons. She lived on a farm east of Niobrara with her husband until four years ago, when they moved to Niobrara, where she resided until her death. She had been in poor health for a number of years. She passed away, August 22 at her home. At the time of her death, she was 63 years, 4 months and 21 days. She is survived by her husband, Frank, daughters, Rose Hirsh and Emma Kadlec of Verdigre, Christine Bourn and Martha Bourn of Niobrara, sons, Edward of Verdigre and Frank Jr. of Bloomfield and 22 grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded her in death. Also surviving are three sisters, Albiana Tichy and Miss Antonia Sokol of Verdigre, Mrs. Fred Hanneman of Brunswick, brothers, Frank, Joe and Fred of Verdigre. Funeral services were conducted at the ZCBJ Hall at Niobrara Friday afternoon. Burial was in L'eau Qui Court cemetery. ...The Verdigre Eagle 24 Aug 1944
