Joe Masin Dies; Spends Entire Life in Valley County Joseph Masin, the son of Frank and Anna Hlavacek Masin, was born Aug. 16, 1897 in Valley county and died unexpectedly Apr. 8 at his home in Ord at the age of 70 years, seven months and 22 days. Mr. Masin has lived his entire life in valley county and for the past three years has made his home in Ord. He was married to Lillian Hulinsky May 8, 1934 at Clay Center, and they came to Eureka township to make their home. Mr. Masin was active and dependable in community activities. He served as a township officer, school board member and was financial secretary for 35 years of the Jungman ZCBJ Lodge 161. His parents, two brothers and two infant sisters preceded him in death. His wife is left to mourn, also two sons, Melvin and Larry of Ord, two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Perrotto and Joan Masin of Omaha; eight grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Anna Vodehnal, Mrs. Mary Gross and Mrs. Rosie Sich, all of Ord. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Methodist church in Ord at 10 am with Rev. John Nordgaard officiating. Interment was made in the Ord Bohemian cemetery with a special ritual service conducted by Jungman ZCBJ lodge. Hastings-Pearson Mortuary made arrangements.
