There are 4 conflicts for the year of birth for John. The 1900 census states September, 1880. His World War I and II Draft Registration Cards reveal 24 Sep 1882. The U.S. Federal Records death index divulges 24 Sep 1883. Lastly, John's memorial stones shows September 23, 1881. John lived near Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska until his family moved to the Pierce, Nebraska area in 1899. John lived in the Pierce area most of his life. His main occupation was carpenter. The World War I draft registration card states his occupation as engineer. In the 1920 census he is in Oklahoma probably assisting his sister's growing family with his skills of carpentry. His sister is Cecilia {Widhalm} Ableidinger in Warren Valley Township, Noble County, Oklahoma. Widhalm, 79, who passed away Tuesday, June 13, 1961 in a Norfolk hospital after a lingering illness. The Rev. Leo Kuhn, pastor of St. Joseph's will officiate at the last rites. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery with Andrew Hoffman, John Zechmann, Bert Hoffman, Ed Schwartz, Joe Abler and Ted Pint as pallbearers. John G. Widhalm was born September 23, 1881 near Humphrey, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Widhalm. The family moved to Pierce county around 1900 and he had since made his home here. Mr. Widhalm never married and spent most of his life at the carpenter trade. Survivors include: one brother, Mike, of Hugo, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters, Mrs. Johanna Fuchs, Mrs. Sophia Lehnerz, and Mrs. Cecilia Ableidinger.
