Bio
Henry "Hank" Chapman, DeSoto, Iowa was born August 19, 1912 at Winterset to Claude and Faye Giberson Chapman. He spent his entire life in the Van Meter-DeSoto area. He was united in marriage to Ruby Collins of DeSoto on April 11, 1936 in Des Moines. He died unexpectedly at his home during the night on May 20, 1980 at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Kay Chapman; his parents, Claude and Faye Chapman; one sister, Faith Burnham; and one brother, Frank. He is survived by his wife Ruby, four sons, Howard of Belleville, Wisconsin, Larry and Jerry both of Austin, Texas, James of Orlando, Florida and one daughter, Janice Leslie of Oregon, Wisconsin. Also Three brothers, Ralph and Eugene Chapman both of Adel, and Allen of Dexter, Iowa; three sisters, Goldie Borcherding of Sioux City, Daisy Mann of Indianola and Genevieve Cook of Omaha, Nebraska; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
