Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mineral Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. W.O. Majors and the Rev. James Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Luckett was born in Rains County Sept. 20, 1894, the son off G.W. and Mattie Hill Luckett. He married Lexa Stricklin, who survives at Emory Nov. 10, 1915. Luckett was a retired railroad employee and a member of Mineral Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Greenville; stepmother, Florence Luckett of Emory; son, Kenneth Luckett of El Paso; brothers, Odie Luckett of Commerce, G.W. Luckett, Homer Luckett and Jack Luckett, all of Dallas, and Lloyd Luckett, Vernie Luckett, Clifford Luckett, Jess Luckett and Elihue Luckett, all of Emory; sisters, Betty Florence Belcher of Turlock, Calif., and Odeal Hayes, Mattie Ivory and Dolly Trimble, all of Emory; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Luckett was preceded in death by his parents; son, Hurchel Luckett, killed in World War II; sisters, Lillie Hayes and Mollie Hughey; and brother, Clarence Luckett.
