(KS) Belleville Republic County Democrat June 2, 1920 Henry A. Hatfield was born in McLain county, Ill., April 6, 1848. He came with his parents to the territory of Kansas in 1855. December 23, 1875 he was married to Miss Eliza Phelps, six miles east of Belleville. Of this union were born six children, five daughters and one son, one of the daughters died in infancy three survive to mourn his loss, his wife and the following children: Mrs. Pearl Glass of Fredonia, Kansas; Mrs. Myrtle Parker of Redonda, California; Mrs. Etta Beinhour, of Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. Lillias Boone, of Fredonia, Kansas and William of Los Angeles, California. In addition to these there were present at the funeral a brother and sister of deceased, C. W. Hatfield and Mrs. Eva Robbins, both of Brown County, Kansas. The services were conducted from the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon, and interment took place in the Belleville cemetery. Mr. Hatfield was an early settler of this vicinity and as such is well known to everyone. He has been employed by the Rock Island, holding the position of section foreman for many years, and was an industrious, conscientious workman. His friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
