Rites Held For Joe Holy, Sr. Joe L. Holy, Sr., 85, of Route 2, West, died Monday, February 13, 1978 at his residence. Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian burial was Tuesday, February 14, 1978 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rev. William Benish as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West. Mr. Holy was born in Tours and lived in the Tours and West area all his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 2305 and the KJT Society #31. Survivors include three sons, Charlie Holy, Raymond Holy and Joe Holy, all of West; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Nemec, Mrs. Martha Sinkule and Mrs. Wilma Kaluza, all of West; 35 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Johnny Kaluza, Jr., Raymond Holy, Jr., Louis Nemec, Jr., Louis Nemec, Jr., James Sinkule, Larry Holy and Charlie Holy, Jr. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 88, No. 7, Edition 1, Thursday, February 16, 1978, page 6.
