Son of Mary A McCellan and Thomas Carroll. Grundy Carroll, age 28, is listed in the 1880 census in Shelby County, Texas, with wife Saludy, 23, and John E. Carroll, 9 months. In 1900 the widowed Grundy Carroll was listed with children Edward, 18, Effie C, 13, Etta M, 10 and Omer M, 10 (Oma Mina Smith). C G Carroll married Ida Lout on April 30, 1901, and a daughter Ruth was born in 1900. In 1920 C G, age 60, is listed with wife Mollie, 21, and daughter Mary, 9. C G Carroll married Annie Yates on September 11, 1920, and was married to her at the time of his death. Cause of death was influenza and pneumonia. His death certificate says he was buried in Carroll Cemetery. Informant was Mrs. Effie Smith of Shelbyville.
