Bio

Patricia J. Wood Young, of Pauls Valley, passed away April 10, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years. Pat, as she was know, was born March 7, 1947 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Glenn and Aletha (Simpson) Wood. She grew up in Pauls Valley and has made her home here all of her life. Pat attended Pauls Valley Schools and is a 1965 graduate of Pauls Valley High School. Beginning May 18, 1993 she worked for Covercraft until her retirement on April 24, 2014 following 20 years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Aletha Wood; brothers, Clyde Wood, Dale Wood Glenn Wood, Jr. and J. W. Wood; sisters, Thelma Darter, Ruth Smith, Betty Record, Sue Kovach and Linda Victor. Surviving family include her daughter, Tawnya Kirkland and her husband, Jerry, of Pauls Valley; one brother, Kenneth Wood of Pauls Valley; two sisters, Lou Christian of Pauls Valley; and Norman Pitz of Richland, Texas; two grandchildren, Seaira Kirkland of Pauls Valley and Joshua Kirkland of Elmore City; one great grandson, Kendron Kirkland of Elmore City; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Pastor Neil Barlow. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
