Ruth Smith, of Pauls Valley, passed away November 22, 2014 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. Ruth was born January 16, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma to Glen Lesley and Etta Aletha Simpson Wood. She grew up in Pauls Valley and attended Pauls Valley school and is a graduate of the Pauls Valley High School. She worked many years as Seamstress and later worked at the Pauls Valley State School as an Aid and Caregiver until her retirement. She was a member of Baptist Church and has made the Pauls Valley area her home all of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen L. and Etta Aletha Wood; husbands, Benjamin Leo Matthews and Frank Monroe Smith; 2 children, Lynn Oliver and Benny Matthews; 9 brothers and sisters, Clyde Arley Wood, Thelma Mae Wood Darter, Orville Dale Wood, Glen Lesley Wood, Jr., Betty Joe Wood Record, John William Wood, II, Matilda Sue Wood and Linda Darnell Wood Victor. Surviving family include her daughter, Della Jenkins of the home; 4 brothers and sisters, Norma Jean Wood Pitz, Kenneth Ronald Wood, Lou Ellen Wood Christian, and Patricia Jeanette Wood Young; 4 grandchildren, Timi Dawn Jenkins & Ronnie Short, Mae Elizabeth Wilcox & Jr. Wilcox, Stephanie Lynn Canida and Rachel Nicole Matthews; 6 great grandchildren, Colby Montana Jenkins Couch, Zoey Nevaeh Jenkins Short, Austin Martin Bryant, Taylor Elizabeth Bryant, Samantha Ray Wilcox and Jadyn Short, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
