Bio

LEO LANIK WAHOO-Funeral services for Leo W. Lanik, 50, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Wenceslaus Church here. The Rev. John Kelly will officiate. Mr. Lanik died unexpectedly Saturday while at work. Born August 11, 1929, in Wahoo, he was a life-long resident of the area. Mr. Lanik was a past Grand Knight of the Wahoo Council of Knights of Columbus and past-president of the Wahoo Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was employed at the Breunig Rendering Works. He is survived by his wife, the former Darlene Hanis, daughters, Sharon of Denver, Colorado and Julie of Lincoln. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Rose M. Lanik of Wahoo, six brothers, Francis of Davey, Godfrey of Ceresco, Bernard of Wahoo, Larry of Oak Lawn, Illinois, Vennie of Lincoln, and Ralph of Tucson, one sister, Mrs. Al (Rose Marie) Cermak of Milpitas, California, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son and father. A wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo, followed by a rosary for the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters of America.
