Bio

Fort Bend Herald, May 11, 2006: Albina Urbanek Roehe, 84, of Rosenberg, left us to rest with her Lord Tuesday, May 9, 2006. She was born March 27, 1922 in Rosenberg to Joe Urbanek and Caroline Barcak Urbanek. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006, with a rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Please call Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home for final service arrangements. Albina worked for the LCISD School Cafeteria, became a manager, and earned her GED during her 20 plus years of service until her retirement. She spent many volunteer hours playing bingo and baking cookies for the Fort Bend Nursing Home residents and will be fondly remembered for her tireless dedication to others. She reminisced often about how she loved her work, about her coworkers and the laughter and humor that filled their working hours. Albina lived a long, full and blessed life. She was a lifetime member of the Holy Rosary KJZT and Altar Society. Favorite pastimes were traveling, fishing, cooking - she was an excellent kolache and strudel maker - gardening and canning. Recently, she enjoyed watching birds and colorful flowers in her backyard. She loved time with her family and she taught us each the true meaning of faith, love and courage. We will miss her so much, but the years we were privileged to share her life enables us to continue her legacy of love and selfless dedication to others. Albina was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Frank, and Otto Urbanek; her parents, Joe and Caroline Urbanek; and grandson, Kendall Roehe. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Roehe of Rosenberg; daughter, Stella Lessert of Rosenberg; sons, Michael Roehe and wife, Minnie, of Richmond, Tony Roehe and wife, Pam, of Richmond; sister, Helen Heinecke of Rosenberg; grandchildren, James A. Kopecky of Rosenberg, Julie Boone and husband, Mark, of Pflugerville, Heather Roehe of Richmond, Amber Roehe of Temple, and Audra Roehe of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Derek Boone of Pflugerville, Camryn Roehe of Rosenberg, and Eden Roehe of Rosenberg; along with other relatives and many friends. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made in Albina's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter, 2909 West Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77025-9992.
