Our mom, known to grandkids as me-ma, and family and friends as Jenny, was a caring hard working and talented lady. Mom worked long hours for her family. She worked in the fields, cooked our meals, made the girls clothes, always planted a large garden, and canned hundreds of jars of food. In moms later year she made 50 or more beautiful quilts. Mom was writing poetry and short stories in her quiet time. Several of her poems were published and she was honored on several occasions Mom and dad spent many hours on creek banks and lakes fishing.
