Jo Ann Marr GORDONVILLE - Jo Ann Marr, 71, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne. She is survived by her sons, Sean Marr, Tim Marr, Mark Marr; brothers, Wayne Tillett, Jerry Tillett; sisters, Juanita Boatwright, Jenny Wise; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, with Gary Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Published in The Herald Democrat on March 6, 2013 Info from Nancy Brown 12/13/2013 Jo Ann Marr, 71, of Gordonville, TX passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Born January 9, 1942 in Elmont, TX, she was the youngest daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle Tillett. She graduated from Van Alstyne High School and went on to become a licensed hair beautician. She was a strong, loving, patient and kind wife and mother, as well as a gentle, caring, and devoted grand/great-grandmother. She was also fun, good-humored, and selfless when it came to her friends and family. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, boating, and fishing. When she wasn't outdoors, she stayed busy cooking, knitting, shopping and trying her luck in the game-room. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Foy Marr of Van Alstyne, TX and siblings Pauline Tillett Gentry, Son Tillett, Robert (Rob) Tillett, William (Billy) Tillet and James Tillett. She is survived by siblings Jennie Tillett Wise of Van Alstyne, Juanita (Nita) Tillett Boatright of Sherman, TX, Wayne Tillett of Ft. Worth, TX, Jerry Tillett of Caddo Mills, TX and her three sons Tim Marr of Denton, TX, Mark Marr of Gordonville, TX, and Shawn Marr and wife Jamie of Frisco, TX. She had 4 grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy, Lauren & Sarah. She also had 3 great-grandchildren Angelina, Natalie, and Skylar. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30AM Friday, March 8th at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, TX. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m at the funeral home.
