Funeral services form Mrs. Max (Pauline) Jakubowski, 69, were held Thursday, Nov. 19, in Our Lady of Lourdes church. Father Jacob Bauer offered the Requiem Mass. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery at Grand Island. Mrs. Jakubowski died Nov. 16 in a Grand Island hospital. She was born March 31, in the Paplin community north of Ashton. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary Goc Wardyn. She attended school in the Paplin community. She and Max Jakubowski were married Feb. 1, 1922, at Ashton. They farmed in the Loup City-Ashton area until 1950, when they moved to a farm near Ravenna. Mrs. Jakubowski was a member of the Altar Society and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Luella Slauter of Grand island and Mrs. Maxine Higgs of Cincinnati; two sons, Francis and Paul, both of Grand Island; four brothers, Frank and Tony of Ashton, Stanley of Loup City and Hubert of Casey, Ia.; four sisters, Mrs. Connie Kowalewski of Iowa, Mrs. Emily Boryzch of St. Paul, Mrs. Anna Steggs of Clarinda, Ia., and Mrs. Helen Guzinski of Guthrie Center, Ia.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grand-children. -Courtesy of The Nebraska Register, Friday, November 27th, 1970- Contributor: Diane (47528261)
