Herald Coaster, October 20, 1997: Funeral services for Elizabeth A. Rhodes, 73, of Rosenberg, will be held on Tue., Oct. 21, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. A rosary service will be held Mon., Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Father Don Schwarting will officiate the services. Mrs. Rhodes was born Jan. 9, 1924 in Schulenburg, Texas to Raymond G. Kossa and Cecilia Mazoch Kossa. She passed away Oct. 18, 1997 in Houston, Texas. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Southwestern Bell Pioneers, and Rosenberg Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association. She was also a lifetime member of the Richmond-Rosenberg Bowling Association, and a volunteer with Polly Ryon Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman R. Rhodes, and parents, Raymond and Cecilia Kossa. Mrs. Rhodes is survived by a son, David Rhodes, and his wife, Gail, of Fulshear; a sister, Bernice Talasek of Rosenberg; and granddaughter, Samantha Rhodes of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wheeler, Barry Dresner, Bill Talasek, Pat Wleczyk, Billy Baxter, and Larry Curbello. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will begin Mon., Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. (281) 341-8800.
