Herald Coaster, January 30, 1986: Funeral services for Herman Rhodes, 72, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Home, Inc., Rosenberg, with Monsignor Robert Barzyk officiating. Mr. Rhodes, a third- and fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2801, died Wednesday at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond after a lengthy illness. He also was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Rhodes of Rosenberg; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Anna Joyce Rhodes of Rosenberg; one granddaughter, Samantha Rhodes of Rosenberg; and one sister, Ola Gray of Grand Prairie. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
