Frank Rudolph Machu was born March 10, 1894 near Granger, Texas to John T and Veronika (Pokorny) Machu. Frank served in WWI. He served with the American Expeditionary Force, Company K, 328th Infantry stationed in France. Frank was on the front lines three times in France. Two hundred men were in the same division as Frank. Nine men of the two hundred survived. Frank was one of the nine men who survived. He returned home to Granger, Texas after being released from the military. He married Anna Korenek on May 15, 1928. Frank died on April 23, 1937. His funeral was held on April 25, 1937 in the Machu Cemetery. Information can be found in "Czechs in Uniform" page 385, submitted by Nancy Machu.
