Bio
Bertha Marie Machu Kopecky passed away on February 17, 2000 in Bay City, Texas. She was born on January 7, 1906 in Granger, Williamson County, Texas to John T. and Veronika Pokorny Machu. She was christened at the Czech Moravian Brethren Church in Granger, Texas on April 16, 1906.** She had been a resident of Bay City for many years, and a member of the Czech Moravian Brethren Church since birth. She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Veronika Pokorny Machu, her husband, V. L. Kopecky, four brothers: Anton, Joe M., John L., and Raymond Machu, three sisters: Albina Rozacky, Vera Svoboda and Rosie Rozacky. She is survived by ten nieces and four nephews as well as two stepdaughters and several other members of her late husband's family. Graveside funeral services were held at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, February 21, 2000 at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas with Taylor Brother's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
