Frank J. Navrkal Frank J. Navrakal, 80, died Friday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert P. Brown officiating. Burial will be in South Creek Cemetery at rural Ponca, Neb. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday at Berkemier Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mr. Navrkal was born June 29, 1906, at Linwood, Neb. He lived in Linwood until his marriage to Julia Chalupa on Dec. 12, 1929, in Cedar Hill, Neb. The couple made their home at Cedar Bluff following their marriage. In 1936, they moved to the northeast Nebraska area where he farmed. Julia Navrkal died May 15, 1969. He came to South Sioux City in 1969. He married Myrtle Rodgers on July 7, 1972, in South Sioux City, and they made their home in Sioux City. Mr. Navrkal was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aeerie 77, and the Boys of 68. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Emil of Omaha, Ernest of Sioux City, Ray of Jackson, Neb., Frank of Lawton, and Melvin of Wakefield, Neb.; three daughters, Mrs. Ken (Katherine) Hoffman of Westfield, Mrs. Paul (Juliann) Uhl of Sioux City, and Mrs. Jim (Irene) Uhl of Vergas, Minn.; a stepson, Bud Johnson of Sioux City; two brothers, John and Adolph of Bellwood, Neb.; five sisters, Augusta Wesley of North Bend, Neb., Mary Thompson, of Morse Bluff, Neb., Kristina Vyhlidal of Linwood, Neb., Blanche Knight of San Bernardino, Calif., and Rose Pospisil of Fremont, Neb. 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
