Enoch Grady Reed's place of birth was shown as Mt. Hope, Alabama (Lawrence Co.) on his WWI Draft Registration. However, his place of birth was listed as "Sherfield, Alabama" on his WWII Draft Registration. There is no such place and this was probably meant to be Sheffield, Alabama in Colbert County. Enoch and his family were living in Mount Hope for the 1900 Alabama Census. Enoch was married 3 times. His first marriage was to Paralee McCall in 1915. They had 2 children and then Paralee died in 1919. Enoch then married Velma Ruth Overby about 1921. They had no children. They divorced about 1934. Enoch then married a 3rd time to Verda Jane Hensley. She was married twice previous to this marriage. Enoch and Verda had 2 children together. ---- Courtesy of CHB
