George Clint Hembree Marietta Monitor November 15, 1999 Submitted by: Martha N. Reddout Services for George Clint "Mutt" Hembree, 85, of Oswalt were Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson, with Rev. Bob Cox officiating. Born January 29, 1914, at Oswalt, Mr. Hembree died October 30, 1999, in Marietta. He was the son of James Edward and Willie Cassandra White Hembree. A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Hembree grew up and lived at Simon, Oswalt and Pike. He worked in the oil fields for Ardmore Drilling, in addition to farming and ranching. Mr. Hembree was married to Leona Georgeann Chisum. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leona Hembree of the home; a daughter, Betty Tyler of Marietta; three sons, Bobby Nipp of Lone Grove, Charles Hembree of Thackerville and Jerry Hembree of Madill; a sister, Mary Phillips of Santa Paula, California; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Hembree was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Vida E. Jackson, Laura Grubbs and Hettie Nelson; six brothers, William Hembree, Odie Hembree, J.W. Hembree, Bobby Hembree, John "Diemont" Hembree and Jim Hembree. Interment in the Simon Cemetery was directed by Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson. Serving as pallbearers were Larry Wilson, Sonny Mobley, Winston Warthen, Donnie Nipp, Clyde Nipp and Curtiss Nipp. Honorary bearers were Gene Nipp, John Nipp and Shorty Faulkenberry.
