Mexia Daily News - Wednesday, July 18, 1962 Former Resident of Freestone County Buried Funeral services were held Monday (July 16) for Edward Griffin, 39, a former resident of Streetman and brother of Mrs. Elthea Pace of Wortham. Services were held at Woodland Chapel near Kirvin in Freestone County. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery. Rites were conducted by Rev. Bill Morgan, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Mexia. Other surviving are his widow; three sons, Roy Edward Griffin, David Earl Griffin and Ernest Paul Griffin, all of West Columbia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Griffin of Streetman; and two brothers, George E. Griffin of Freeport and John Thomas Griffin of West Columbia. Courtesy of Eric Wood
