Everett W. Schwartz, 87 of Grand Island died Saturday, January 03, 2015 at CHI Health-St. Francis. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend Lonnie Logan and Dan Naranjo will officiate. Masonic service will follow by Ashlar Masonic Lodge #33 A.F. and A.M. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Schwartz was born on April 14, 1927 in Hall County, Nebraska the son of Otto and Elma (Spiehs) Schwartz. He grew up in the Cairo area and received his education in Grand Island. He was united in marriage to Marian McLellan on July 17, 1946 at Washington, Kansas. The couple farmed east of Cairo for 20 years before moving to Grand Island. Everett was employed in Grand Island as a welder by Mayhew Signs for 13 years and for Art-Kraft Signs for 11 years. Some of his memberships included the Ashlar Masonic Lodge #33 A.F. & A.M.; the Eastern Star Andrew Chapter, serving as past Master and past Worthy Patron and the Platt Duetsch. Everett enjoyed gardening and spending time fishing with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Marian; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Gary Gannon of Grand Island; grandsons, Jeff Gannon, John (Jennifer) Gannon and Jason Gannon; great-grandchildren, Jady, Gage and Ayden; son, Everett (James) Schwartz and his family; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister; brother, Henry Schwartz and sister, Roma Jean Johnson.
