Wife of Wendell C. McKinney
Funeral Services for Leah Hacking McKinney, 74, were held March 16 in the Cedar Valley Ward Chapel. Mrs. McKinney died March 12, 1981 in a Provo Hospital She was born July 31, 1906, in Cedar Fort to Orson Ezra and Ida Melvina Brown Hacking. She married Wendell (Ben) Carson McKinney, July 1, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS church and had worked at the Tooele Ordinance Depot. She is survived by her husband, Fairfield; three sons, one daughter, Orson Wendell, Cedar Fort; Blaine Hacking and Ben Leman, both Fairfield; Janet Palmer, Lehi; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, one sister, Howard Hacking, Tooele; Vinnie Hacking Ault, Cedar Fort. Prelude and postlude music was played by Ileen Cook. The prayer with family members was spoken by Howard Ault. Bishop Calvin Cook announced the services. He also spoke comforting words to the congregation. Stephen Chipman offered the invocation. A musical selection was presented by Carol Carson. Peggy Fisher gave the biographical sketch. Speakers were Bishop Paul Genho and Bishop Cloyd Harris. Leonard Wing played a medley of favorite songs on the organ. Douglas Calton sang a solo accompanied by Colleen Calton. Art Cook gave the benediction and the dedicatory prayer at Cedar Valley Cemetery was by Howard Hacking. Serving as pallbearers were Robert McKinney, Bill McKinney, and Brent McKinney, Travis McKinney, Ryan McKinney and Clark Palmer. Honorary Pallbearers were Dagan McKinney. Royce Palmer, Mace McKinney, Shawn Palmer, Joel McKinney and Jay Palmer. The flowers were cared for and arranged by Cedar Valley Relief Society.
