Mr. Karel was the son of Eman Karel and Anna Molacek. He attended school in Howells, and also attended Nebraska State Teachers College, Wayne, Nebraska. He married Twylah Marcella Knight April 22, 1932, in Clarkson, Nebraska. They came to Billings in 1945. Mr. Karel was a dock foreman for Salt Creek Freightways until his retirement due to ill health in 1962. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic parish, Knights of Columbus, Council 1259, and the Teamsters Union. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Donna (Larry) Egan, 1226 Harvard Avenue in Billings, and Mary Ann (Gerald) Majerus, 2217 Losekamp Street in Billings; two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Pospisil, 310 Ecton Circle in Billings, and Mrs. Alden Faltys of Clarkson, Nebraska; and nine grandchildren.
